GERALD
MOHR
A STAR FOR GERALD (Contd.)
I have, over the past few months, written letters to Mr Sumner Redstone, majority owner of CBS Corporation, and Mr Leslie Moonves, President and Chief Executive Officer of CBS Corporation, in an effort to encourage CBS Radio to help sponsor Gerald’s Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  However, sadly neither gentleman has granted me the honour of a reply to my letters.

If any gentle reader knows who would be best for me to contact in CBS Radio regarding sponsorship for Gerald’s Star, please contact me.

Similarly, I have written to Quentin Tarantino, the connection there being that Mr Tarantino is a fan of William Witney, who directed Gerald in “Jungle Girl”.  To date, I have not received a reply from him, either.

At the beginning of 2009 I contacted Mr Pavlou of “Private Investigator” magazine, the international trade magazine for professional investigators, as they had honoured James Garner with its first-ever Outstanding Achievement Award as “Television’s Most Famous Private Investigator”.  I suggested that Gerald should receive a similar honour for being “Radio’s Most Famous Private Investigator” and he kindly agreed to consider honouring Gerald for “Philip Marlowe” at some future date.

I have also contacted Mr Chuck Southcott, the President of Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters, with a view to honouring Gerald at one of their commemorative dinners.  However, Mr Southcott informed me that they do not honour actors posthumously.  Should they change that rule, I have asked them to consider Gerald.

Once again, if any gentle reader can think of good people to contact, both for the Star and for other honours for Gerald, please let me know.
