At the beginning of September 1968 Gerald and Mai flew from Los Angeles to Stockholm to start work on a proposed new American TV series called “Private Entrance” about the adventures of a lawyer called Jeff Landers. During September and October 1968 the pilot episode was filmed in and around Stockholm. The location used for where he lives (which is meant to be Geneva!) is Hässelby Slott (Hässelby Castle), located a few miles west of the city centre, and it is an hotel. Here’s the URL:
I first found out about the possible continued existence of “Private Entrance” from correspondence with Tim Dietrich, Gerald’s stepson. It was during my third visit to Stockholm in 2007, when I visited the Statens ljud -och bild arkiv (SLBA), the State Sound and Picture Archive, to view a copy of Gerald’s comedy Western “Wild West Story”, that it occurred to me to ask whether they had any record of “Private Entrance”.
